Our Cisco Network Engineer gets his hands on the newly launched Cisco UC320...

Ahead of it being available to partners & the public at large, we’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on the latest addition to Cisco’s SMB UC range, the UC320. So, I thought I’d do a quick unboxing article with a few pictures, just to get the UC taste buds warmed up.
It’s the smaller brother to the UC500 range, supporting up to 24 phones with 4 FXO ports, 1 FXS, 1 Gigabit WAN port, 4 Gigabit LAN ports, b/g/n wireless, Audio Line In & Out and 2 USB ports. The UC320 supports the SPA300, SPA500 & analogue phones only. No 7900 series phones here I’m afraid.
Forgive the slightly blurry picture, but on opening there are all the bits we need to get started. The device itself and a power cable (yes, it was the right region plug!).
Cables! Interestingly you get four 2-pin RJ-11 cables for use with the FXS ports, which is a nice touch. Plus the usual yellow RJ45 cable that all Cisco Techs know and love.
For all intents and purposes it looks like a slightly larger version of the SRP527 ADSL router.
Close up of the front. There’s a large array of status lights.
Rear view...
And finally the package contents.

I’m fully intending to drag this into the lab over the next few days and get this configured up.

Full review later this week.
